A film student won more than enough to pay off his student loans when he won $200,859 playing WinADay.com's popular video poker game, Jack’s Show.
“I was just killing time taking my mind off my studies for a bit when suddenly, out of the blue, I hit the big one!” said the player known as LUCKYTOM. “I’ll probably blow some of this win on some party celebrations but I’m going to invest most of it in a film project I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.”
This is the second highest win ever at WinADay.com, the largest being the $223,420 jackpot won by a retired widower playing the Reel De Luxe slot machine in March. Before these last two wins, the WinADay jackpot was usually hit every six weeks for $100,000 to $150,000. If these last two jackpots are any indication, bigger jackpots hit more frequently could become the norm.

The online poker offering from 888.com has announced a new partnership with organiser London Poker Circuit that will see the pair present an ‘extended poker experience’ integrating virtual and live events in order to create larger prize pools and bigger tournaments.
To launch the new partnership, London Poker Circuit and 888.com have created the 888Poker.com Super Stack, which is an event set to take place at the end of every month at The Kensington Close Hotel beginning in October boasting a prize pool of £30,000.

Poker Hall of Fame?

After implementing a fan voting system last year –a process that saw Mike Sexton end up as the lone inductee– the Poker Hall of Fame once again opened up the nomination process to the fans. After the initial nomination period a whopping 181 poker players have been nominated for poker’s highest honor.
Next week the top 10 nominees will be sent to the Nomination Committee for review –you may recall that Tom Dwan was stricken from the list last year for failing to meet the criteria for induction—before being voted on in September by the 16 living Hall of Fame members and a group of selected poker journalists and media members.
